Tourist/Visitor Visa

A visitor visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), is a type of visa that allows foreign individuals to travel to and enter Canada. Unless you are travelling to Canada as an understudy, temporary worker, or simply to visit, you will need a Visitor visa unless you are from a visa-exempt country.

Single entry and multiple entry visas are the two types of visitor visas available in Canada. A single-entry visa allows visitors from other countries to visit Canada only once. A multiple passage visa allows its holder to enter and exit Canada as often as they like as long as the visa is valid. You are not required to choose which kind to apply for; as a result, candidates are evaluated for a variety of passage visas and are only granted single entrance visas under unique conditions.

Multiple entry visitor visas allow the holder to visit Canada for up to six months at a time, as many times as they need, as long as the visa remains valid. They can be valid for up to ten years, but the particular validity period is at the discretion of the visa official who issues it. If you have some other status records, such as an examination grant or a work grant, and you are not otherwise visa-exempt, you will be granted a visiting visa, allowing you to enter Canada to receive your award. This is usually a multiple entry visitor visa.

Selection Criteria for Visitor Visa to Canada

To obtain a TRV, you must meet a few requirements while submitting your application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Some of these conditions include the following:
  • A valid passport or equivalent travel document with a 6-month validity period.
  • You must show that you will leave the country following your visit.
  • Persuade the Canada immigration officer that you have good reasons to return to your native country and that you will do so after your purpose is fulfilled.
  • You should have the option of demonstrating that you have sufficient assets to support yourself and any accompanying family.
  • You should be in good health and willing to direct a medical examination if necessary.
  • No criminal background is required, and you must be willing to complete a police confirmation.
  • Must not engage in any type of job or concentration in Canada unless specifically authorised to do so.
  • You must be able to provide every single supporting document to the visa official.
  • Transitory passengers who are travelling in Canada are also required to get a TRV. This need is determined by your country of residence. If you do not require a visa to enter Canada, you may be required to get an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Determine whether an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) or a guest visa is required.
