Alberta is one of the three provinces in Western Canada on the Prairie. It is one of the country’s most rapidly developing provinces and home to two of the largest cities in Calgary and Edmonton. The scenery of Alberta varies with towering mountain ranges, glacial lakes, huge boreal forests, lush meadows and arid badlands. The natural resources portfolio of the province include natural gas, oil, coal, minerals and Alberta’s renowned oil sands and is the energy province of Alberta Canada.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) was conceived for people with talents and capabilities in Alberta to cope with job shortages. The AINP accepts applications from skilled workers through the Alberta Opportunity Stream and Express Entry.
Two company programmes, the self-worker farmer stream and the International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream, are also underway. A third stream of business is scheduled to start in January 2021 with the Foreign Graduate Starts Visa Stream. The program is operated by the Alberta government in partnership with the federal immigration department, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
